Nationwide, passionate riders of every kind blaze trails through roads, on tracks, and off ramps
RIDING – expresses passion by modifying societal solutions; crafting bikes, roller skates, skateboards & alternate rides into mobile movements of their own. People of all ages, genders, & backgrounds can experience the excitement of self-empowering mobility through the eyes of cultured riders. Curated by Elle Seven, Loriann Hernandez, who commuted by & taught herself to ride in skateparks on roller skates.
With contributions from a diverse cross-section of the riding community; featuring Crystal Huguez, Kevin Stewart Magee, Romy Ilano, Skatesencia, J'Niyah Williams, Anna Roschker, Gavin Bird, Ron Chatman, Elizabeth Hewlett, Darren De Leon, Serge Marcos, Queer Punk Filipinx, Jay Reed, Cory Oberndorfer, Jessica Jirsa, Veronika Briatková, Thao Huynh French, Melrose Pottery, Carla Roque, Sharon (Venus Speedtrap), Ryan P. Curator Talk +Skate Workshop: RIDING - Inclusive Mobility for All
Saturday, March 25th from 1:00pm - 6:00pm we were privileged to join Elle Seven for a Curator Talk, poetry reading, and a donation based lesson and session.
Elle discussed the art of RIDING, behind the scenes stories, her skate journey, the current skatepark scene for women, and the future of quad park skating.
Poetry reading featured Darren De Leon and donation based skate lessons were provided by qualified instructors for interested attendees.
Attendees got a rare opportunity to capture themselves with the ramps of RIDING before the exhibition came down.
